Eating Disorders
Outpatient Therapy for Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are complex conditions that can have serious health consequences, and generally involve medical and mental health intervention. In my work, I provide therapy for individuals struggling with eating disorders such as:
- Anorexia Nervosa
- Bulimia Nervosa
- Binge Eating Disorder
- ARFID
- And other disordered eating patterns that might not fit neatly into these diagnoses.
My approach is to take a comprehensive look at the unique circumstances contributing to the eating disorder, while still engaging in effective and trusted treatment approaches.
Because recovery involves more than just addressing mental health symptoms, I strive to incorporate a multidisciplinary approach that may include medical doctors, registered dietitians, and medication providers to ensure each client receives the most well-rounded, coordinated care possible.
For adolescents, I place particular emphasis on family involvement. Parents and caregivers play a vital role in supporting recovery, and I aim to educate families, while also building understanding, communication, and various strategies that promote lasting change.
My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space, where clients can explore the emotional and behavioral aspects of their relationship with food, body image, and underlying contributing factors—developing healthier coping skills and a more balanced, compassionate connection to themselves.
